Three Kosovo Citizens and one from Bosnia and Herzegovina Lose Their Lives in Vienna Accident

Vienna – A serious accident at a construction site in the Austrian capital has resulted in the deaths of four people, three of whom are citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, while authorities continue investigations into the circumstances of the incident.

According to Austrian authorities, the accident occurred in the Alsergrund district during construction work when part of the structure collapsed, trapping workers beneath it. International media reports that the incident involved the collapse of scaffolding at the site, causing four fatalities and leaving others injured.

 

The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Austria has confirmed that three of the victims are Kosovo citizens, Pajtim Bajrami (1990), Asllan Musliu (1977) and Istref Zekaj. 

Initially, two Kosovo victims were confirmed, while later it was announced that the third victim is also a Kosovo citizen. The identity of the fourth victim has not yet been made public. Unofficially, HAJDE has learned that the fourth victim is from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In its statement, the Embassy of Kosovo in Austria expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended its condolences to the families of the victims. It also stated that it remains in continuous contact with Austrian authorities and the victims' families to assist with procedures and provide necessary support.

“We are closely following all developments and are committed to providing all necessary support to the families of the victims,” the Embassy said.

 

Austrian authorities have launched an investigation to determine the causes of the accident, while more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
