Wiener Linien annual ticket holders are considered active climate protectors, and to reward them, Wiener Linien (Vienna’s public transport), in partnership with KunstHausWien, invites all art and transport enthusiasts to celebrate Wiener Linien Day.

The event provides a unique chance to experience the link between art, sustainability, and environmental consciousness. Visitors will explore how Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s visionary architecture and international contemporary exhibitions foster a dialogue between art and ecology.

Easily accessible by public transport or bicycle, KunstHausWien invites everyone to join this inspiring day focused on creativity, community, and green mobility.

The Wiener Linien has previously offered similar benefits to its annual ticket holders. In August 2025, free admission was available at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK), inviting annual ticket holders to view the exhibition “Water Pressure: Designing for the Future.” In September 2024, annual ticket holders enjoyed free entry to the mumok Museum

Wiener Linien contributes to Vienna’s high ranking in the Mercer Quality of Living Index and frequently features in EU best practice reports on urban mobility. Additionally, the affordability of the 365 euro ticket (equivalent to 1 euro per day) serves as a model for Europe. However, from 1 January 2026, this price will rise by 27% to 465 euros for an annual ticket. The Green Party has opposed this increase, arguing that it will impact climate protection policies.
