Kosovo will face Austria at the “Ernst Happel” Stadium in Vienna, as part of Group B3.

Kosovo comes into this match after a 1–0 victory over the Republic of Ireland, while Austria opened this edition with a 3–1 win over Israel. Both teams have three points after their opening matches.

The match will be played today, September 27, at 18:00 local time. The game is expected to take place in front of a packed stadium, as all tickets are sold out.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Kosovo and Austria at senior national-team level.

For Kosovo, the match also brings some squad challenges. Head coach Franco Foda has confirmed the squad, but defender Albian Hajdari, one of the team’s leaders, will miss the match.

Sky Sport Austria describes Kosovo as one of the main contenders for the top spot in the group and highlights that the “Dardanians” have won 14 of their last 20 international matches.

Austrian public broadcaster ORF considers Austria the favourite, while emphasising that Kosovo comes into the match confident after a 1–0 win over Ireland and a strong run of away results.

After the match in Vienna, Kosovo will host Austria on October 4 at the “Fadil Vokrri” Stadium in Pristina.
