Designed as a community-driven learning platform, the programme encourages participants to share skills, exchange ideas, and build meaningful connections. Activities range from creative and practical workshops, such as design training using Canva and public speaking sessions, to discussions on energy markets, human rights, and environmental challenges in the Western Balkans.

Here are the events from February to April:

On February 25, the expert on the energy market and the energy community, Arben Kllokoqi, will hold a lecture titled “Energy Markets in the Western Balkans Region, Dependencies and Environmental and Climate Impact”. This lecture and discussion will explore how energy markets in the Western Balkans are developing and aligning with European Union rules through regional cooperation. The session will focus on the benefits of integration, including improved energy security, more stable prices, and stronger investment potential. It will also introduce key EU climate policies and address the challenges faced by coal-dependent economies, offering insight into the region’s transition toward a cleaner and more resilient energy future.

On February 26, a hands-on workshop led by Mira Schwab, a media professional, will introduce participants to Canva, the popular design platform for creating visual content for different audiences and digital platforms. The session will cover essential skills such as editing text, graphics, and images, organising elements through layers and groups, and customising templates for professional use. Participants will also learn key design principles, practical tips, and how to apply brand guidelines and colour schemes to produce clear, engaging, and audience-friendly visuals.

On March 11, a public speaking workshop led by political consultant Teresa Reiter will prepare participants to confidently navigate panel discussions and communicate their message effectively. Through practical exercises in a small-group setting, attendees will learn to assert themselves, respond to more experienced speakers, and deliver clear, impactful contributions on stage. Using idëmo! as a case study, the session will offer hands-on experience and strategies to strengthen participants’ confidence and presence in public debates.

On April 1st, a lecture and interactive workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of human rights and how the global human rights system functions. Led by lawyer and activist Mirna Kusljugic, the session will combine legal insights with interactive activities, allowing attendees to explore the role of human rights in everyday life and ways to support their protection. The event will also examine current global human rights challenges and debates, encouraging discussion on some of the most pressing and controversial issues shaping today’s world.

The programme also includes interactive and social activities, such as football workshops that bring participants together in an informal setting, strengthening both teamwork and community spirit. Most sessions are free for members and open to the wider public for a small fee, ensuring accessibility while supporting the organisation’s activities.

Through initiatives like Akademidëmo, idëmo! not only promotes education and personal development but also creates a platform for dialogue and cooperation.
