According to the official statement, in close coordination with the victims’ families and Austrian authorities, the bodies of the Kosovo citizens, Asllan Musliu, Istref Zekaj, and Pajtim Bajrami, were sent to Kosovo this afternoon.

The tragic incident occurred on March 17 at a construction site in Vienna’s Alsergrund district, when part of the structure collapsed during work, trapping several workers under the rubble. As a result, four people lost their lives, three of whom were Kosovo citizens.

Eyewitnesses described dramatic moments, stating that screams were heard first, followed by emergency sirens, while rescue teams faced major difficulties due to debris and fresh concrete.

The Embassy of Kosovo in Austria emphasized that it remained in continuous contact with local authorities and the victims’ families to ensure the necessary support and coordination of procedures.

“In these difficult moments, we express our most sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, their relatives, and all those affected by this loss,” the Embassy stated.

Gratitude was also expressed to the Albanian community in Austria, whose solidarity and willingness to help supported the victims’ families during these difficult times.

Austrian authorities have launched an investigation to fully clarify the causes of the accident, which has shocked public opinion both in Kosovo and among the diaspora.
